WHAT MAKES A GOOD DRIVER ?

Good driving isn’t just about learning the rules of the road: your skill and your attitude as a driver are vital too, and you’ll keep learning and developing these over the years.

A GOOD DRIVER

• is responsible for what they do while driving
• concentrates on what they’re doing
• anticipates what could happen around them
• is patient with other road users
• feels confident about how to drive safely

To begin learning to drive you need to be at least 17 and hold a valid UK provisional licence. You can apply for your provisional on line at :

https://www.gov.uk/browse/driving/driving-licences

or by picking up form D1 from your local Post OffIce, the quickest option is onine. You'll also need to be able to read a car number plate from a distance of about 20 metres, wearing your contact lenses or glasses if necessary.
